My 02 1.2 Petrol Opel Corsa is on its last legs so I'm looking to buy a new car, but I'm not sure what to get.
Have some criteria but looking for suggestions!

    - Small car preferred, max size I would consider is Golf/Astra size. In my early 20s so no need for a bigger car
    - I want something with a bit of power - I get fed up with my current car struggling to gain speed on the motorway etc
    - Something which actually looks nice and sporty (Not a 'granny car')
    - Minimum year 2009
    - Budget between 6-8k
    - I am open to going up North to buy
    - Leaning towards diesel due to influence from family - not entirely sure if needed. My work commute is 20 mins m50+n7 plus a one hour spin down the motorway once a month. Not disregarding petrol suggestions whatsoever.
    - Possibility I will emigrate in the next 2-3 years, so good resale value is always a plus.

All suggestions welcome, perhaps my budget is unrealistic! Thanks

Sporty, diesel, minimum year 2009, budget €6-€8k is unlikely to bring up a single suitable car that matches that criteria.

I think you would need to go nearer €10k if you want something like a Skoda VRS with year 2009 onwards.

Emigrating and being worried about resale value would instead get me to look at a €3-€4k petrol 2 litre car instead, much less to lose money on.

I don't necessarily mean an extra powerful sporty car - rather something with more power/torque than what I have now that is nice to look at!
I don't know much about cars so I may have articulated it badly!
I was looking at Seat Ibiza or VW polo but don't know much about them

I've seen a few of them around and like the look of them!
Are they a fairly reliable choice?
