Hi all just wondering what people think of petrol SUV choices ? Looking online it seems that choosing petrol limits your options to a base model ?

Ateca is supposed to be very good and with good petrol options. New Peugeot 3008 also a fantastic car with well reviewed petrol engine.

Call me old fashioned, but I'd want more than a 1.2 with only three cylinders from my petrol engined SUV. Even if it really does have the claimed 128 bhp, that's not a whole pile in something as tall as that. I'd get the 2.0 diesel (assuming it's offered in Ireland) or even the 1.6 HDi (or whatever Peugeot brand their diesels as these days).

Ordered the petrol 1.4 xcellence ateca, 150bhp with plenty of poke. Test drive it before you decide on the other 3
