Have a friend who's office location is being moved. HR have looked up each employee's home address and calculated the difference in the distances and are basing their compensation offers on this. Is this normal or what would be expected in this scenario.

Has anybody had an entire office move where their existing location was specified in their contract and if so what sort of relocation compensation was offered.

In this case it is from 20kms outside a city in one direction to 5kms the opposite side of the city.

It's a bit of a how long is a piece of string question.

Your friends best bet would be to seek legal advice or contact NERA

I'd say they will end up in the Labour court the way it is going. I was just curious if anyone had any experience of something similar.

Time for some professional advice then tbh. It's a bit of a lottery from past court cases the professionals are probably best to advise you.
