    Hi folks,
I am looking to get the gas fire in my mobile home capped off so that i can take it out and replace it with an electric flame effect fire.
It uses LPG and i would like it done by a certified RGI gas installer.
I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on how much this would cost.
I purchased the mobile home second hand just last year and all gas was checked and passed by an certified RGI gas installer.
    Thanks,
    LC

Had gas capped off to my kitchen a while back and it was €80 for just the call out. Took him 5 minutes.

It may have been slightly longer than 5 minutes...I guess my point was that it wasn't a big job.

He came in, turned off gas at the meter, stuck on a threaded fitting and screwed a cap onto that, turned gas back on and tested it for leaks. Is there something missing?

Should add that he was working on installing a boiler a couple of days later and was familiar enough with the house so may have been quicker as a result

    Ahhh thats better, :)

To many chancers out there who might just stick a plug on a line and run without carrying out the appropriate tests.

    €80

1/3 to the government (VAT & personal tax )
1/3 for overheads. + rainy day fund.
    1/3 Profit

Life would be great if we could keep the 100%
    But that's life ! :(
