    Hi.
I would like to get my garden done. So need to get 35m2 of block paving . Can the builder put it on my concrete or have to remove it at extra cos and use only dry sand etc ? Someone told me something about membrane in the building and when the will put at the concrete it may be bit too high for building to breath or something. Thanks

its called a damp proof course or DPC it is a layer of plastic that is inserted by the block layer when house is being built to stop moisture traveling from the ground up into your wall . the top of the footpath or slabs should be 150mm below the dpc at a minimum.

Based on the size you referred to (35m2), the concrete will have to come up for continuity with the rest of the garden. The paver will do this (or get it done yourself - up to you but best leave them to it as its heavy work with kangos, etc). Then its dig out, level, hard-core base, whacker, anti-weed membrane, sand, whacker, paving stones and whacker again, joint fill and done.
