I work part time and i'm definitely being taxed incorrectly, don't get a chance to speak with my employer due to personal reasons, can someone explain to me why on the revenue website my gross income and tax rate band isn't being shown on the website for the current job i am in which is active?

So how much exactly is emergency tax calculated? How much tax credits do you get weekly? On the revenue website its asking for my gross income for the year and how am i supposed to know that....... what certifications/letters do i need to give to my employer to not be taxed on emergency tax and how do i know on my payslip that i'm not being taxed based on emergency besides your net income substantially low?

How exactly do you claim your tax back? It's like an extremely complex system for me to exactly find out a way to do this...

Would appreciate it as my payslip is really confusing me...

If your current employment isn't showing up when you login to your Revenue account, you need to register your employment with Revenue.

When did you start your employment?

When did you start your employment?

    Started two months ago.

It is showed up but what i'm having issues with is that under the link in the homepage:
    "Manage your tax 2017"

My current job is actually visible and active, what i'm confused is that under the heading:
"How your tax credits and rate band are currently divided"

For my current employment it doesn't state the annual PAYE and annual tax credits? Why is it asking me the estimated gross salary for the year when my hours fluctuate on a weekly basis? It's a part time job too

Sorry if the questions i ask are simple i'm just new to these things

Your employer will only act on correspondence from the Revenue so you need to focus on the Revenue.
Once you update your records they will send out new paperwork to you and employer
They want an estimate of your annual to see if you should be taxed at the higher rate so as you will pay approx the same tax each month and not be hit with a big hit when you use up the lower tax band.
They don't necessarily know it is a PTJ.

Any excess tax paid this year will come back once you get the right tax credits and estimated earnings

In fairness to the Revenue they are pretty good and are on your side more than you think so chill a bit and work though it step by step

    Tax bands are here
    http://www.revenue.ie/en/tax/it/leaflets/it1.html#section3
    so take a stab at your earnings: 50 week s at X hours/week at Y euro =
    eg
    50 by 23 by euro9.15 = euro10,522

so depending on how you are fixed relationship wise, assume single then up to 33,800 per annum will be taxed at 20% and then this will be reduced by the tax credits.
So lets say you are on 20,000 per annum
your basic tax credits will be 3,300
so you will be taxed at 20% on the 20,000 so 4,000 less 3,300 = 700

    Divide by 52 for weekly

    USC is extra

ps: someone might check my math, I think it's right but have two glasses of red on board
