Anyone in 6th year considering BIS in UCC or NUIG for next year 2017/2018?

Anyone know if either college is better than the other for BIS or is there much of a difference? Anyone have knowledge of the difference in college life in general in both colleges?

Also what's the difference between MSISS in Trinity and BIS in UCC/NUIG?

In the same boat here, applying for both UCC and NUIG BIS courses.
To my understanding the Trinity MSISS course requires a higher standard of maths (H4 minimum I believe), and has a greater business/management side to the course than BIS in UCC/NUIG.

From talking to a lecturer of BIS at NUIG, 2/3rds of the course is IT, 1/3rd is business. MSISS seems to be more evenly split imo.

Thanks. Any other info from that lecturer? Should have gone to open days.

Nope, nothing really more, but I would suggest going to both the UCC and NUIG campus and see how you feel yourself about the college. Course in NUIG is also smaller so that may be an advantage/disadvantage, depending on how you look at it

Having done BiS at NUIG I'd say it's half IT, half business for the first 3 years, and then for 4th year if you don't like the IT side you can pick electives to avoid that part of it.

BiS classes are small compared to other courses (about 60 in the year). For some modules you are mixed with Commerce and Engineering students. Most of your classes are at Cairns building where the BiS students have their own computer labs.
