Advice on tri bike please

    Howdy all,

Id like to ask advice on a bike purchase for triathlon.
Im currently on a 2013 Orbea Aqua Aliminium frame woth bolted on tri bars.
I feel I need to upgrade from this heavy and basic (sora) setup to unlock some potential.
I currently get a 20k tt done in about 38 mins.
Currently interested in sprint distance but will get to olympic distance soon.

I generally train alone and rarely race anything other than dualtlon or triathlon on a bike... the very odd adventure race but I use the hack for them.

Ive narrowed it down between an entry level tri bike or an entry level Aero road bike.
Both priced at 2k or so.

The Aero bike would be a Giant propel 2 (105 gear set)

And the tri bike would be an Orbe Ordu m30 ( mostly 105 gearset)

Tri at the moment is my goal for the next few years...

So, would an Aero road bike be the sensible option?

Or should i just buy the purpose built machine?

Any comments on the two bikes ive narrowed it down to?

    Thanks, the goat.

If genuinely interested in staying in the sport for a few years get a TT bike.

Try the second hand market, some good deals out there at the moment.

+1, this is where the value is but be patient and make sure that fit is correct

Cheers for the reply lads, I cant seem to find used bikes in my size....
Being male and 5ft4 i need an xs frame. (47cm)
Ive been on donedeal and ebay but no frames come up in this size.

I think the extra small orbea seems the logical choice.
Its just gone on sale for €1600 too.
Leaves me room to upgrade the wheels.

I will get a bike fit in somewhere like base to race or wheelworx.

Im never going to win a race but would like to aim for a top 20 in a Ns.
