Tyres - Bridgestone Potenza S001 opinions.

I have a chance to buy a new set of OEM 18" wheels fitted with Bridgestone Potenza S001 tyres for my 2016 A4.

Anyone have experience of the Potenza S001s? Is there much road noise? Are they reasonably long-wearing?

I don't want to buy, then find extra road-noise or fast wear or other unforeseen down-side. I'm currently on OEM 17" rims with Michelin 225/50 R 17's and they don't sound noisy to my ears anyway.

    Thx for any any advice.

Avoid if possible. Have them on my car from the factory and I can't stand them. Wear wise they're not bad, but they're noisy (and gradually worsening with wear), but the worst part is their performance. They like lighting up the traction light in the dry and if it's damp/wet then quick acceleration is a no no. They also don't inspire too much lateral confidence when cornering with any brevity.

I can't wait to get back to Eagle F1's. :(

I'd echo the above. Very disappointing tyre and don't warrant their price tag imo. Swapped them for eagle f1s and it transformed the car.

Openeo have a good deal on the Eagle F1's at the moment. Got two runflats for my car this weekend at just over 200 each. (245 40 R19)

I was impressed with the rft version. Massive improvement over their predecessor, the re050s.
