Can new neighbour's broadband be affecting mine?

Have a new neighbour using vodafone Wi-Fi. I use 3 network Wi-Fi. Houses are very close together in rural area. My connection seems to have slowed down a lot. Could they be using a booster of some sort and could this be affecting my broadband connection even though we're on different networks?

Depending on proximity you could have overlapping wifi channels. Best thing to do is to download a wifi analyser app on your phone and see which channels you and your neighbour are using. You could change your channel to one further away from your neighbours. Select channels 1, 6 or 11 for best performance.

    But which bit is slow?

Note that Wi-Fi is what serves things locally - range is typically within a medium-large building or a few houses on a street. As I understand things, Wi-Fi is on an uncontrolled part of the spectrum, open for anyone to use. If there are only two houses, I can't see the spectrum being too busy.

Then there is an internet connection - connected to the world. You don't say whether you are using a fixed line or a mobile phone connection. If you are sharing the same telephone connection, then that could affect things.

Do you have any loose connections? Has your Wi-Fi antenna been moved?

Thanks Victor. Neither of us have phone lines so both of us are using phone company Wi-Fi modems. Mine is with 3 network and theirs is with vodafone. Also would be 2 different phone masts in the area too. I live in a very difficult spot, a small black area- I have nearly no mobile phone reception (also with 3 network) but have good enough broadband to be able to stream Netflix etc..so have had problems with reception before.
Just seeing quite bit of slow down in my speed so wondering if the neighbour's could be somehow interfering...
Will try the wifi app that degse suggested to see

If you're using fixed line wifi modems, then the mobile masts have nothing to do with it. As was suggested earlier, try changing channels. The model is likely set to [Auto]. Degsie has already suggested the best channels to use.
