Ian's father passed away recently - message him on FB as I think he's on a new number - wouldnt be the best technology wise to go updating his old number.

Don't know what's happening with them. Drove out to them for a wash and it was closed. Messaged on Facebook and texted the new number but they never bothered replying. I'll give my business to spirit instead.

To save you some more wasted time; dont go to Spirit looking for just a wash! ;)

I've not seen his work in person, but he's around quite a while. He has a very good reputation, has had some very high end cars in, and any advice I've seen him give has been spot on! He works with industry leading products for which accreditation is required...cowboys don't get this kind of approval.

Sorry I didn't answer your inquiry.I have not being on Facebook much as of late.I also have not being doing much work over the past while.I have had a lot of crap to deal with the last few months.Elite has sort of took its toll on me due to trying to keep it up and running.I put everything I had into it over the years and have had no luck .The place in Town which I put a lot of hard work and money into I had to leave because of rent increases and it was being taken over by the receivers.I moved out to blanch because the rent was 1450 a month and was told there would be no change to it .Nama was running it so no lease just an agreement to cover them. After the first year it went to1850 and the third year it's gone to 2650 because new owners have took over. Its sort of just got all to much for me and I am taking a bit of time out to try sort something out .I have ran out of money so cant just run out and start up again .I could see this coming and just didn't want to face the facts .My way of dealing with it was not to deal with it and I just blanked Elite out when it all got to much .I apologise to all my customers for any inconvenience caused.I am not sure what the future holds for me as regards to Elite.I am taking a few weeks out to figure out what to do with myself regarding detailing and Elite.

Ian, Elite AutoClean will be a big loss to the community should you feel like you can't continue. It's not an easy decision to walk away from something you've worked hard to build for so long.

Best of luck to you Ian, whatever you do.

Ian to this day you did the most phenomenal job on my 166 - never seen a car come up like it did after you worked your magic on it. Very happy customer here.

I hope there's a future for Elite Detailing in Ireland as it would be a massive loss to the car community, but first and foremost you have to look after yourself.

I know Dave it breaks my heart to have to say I am done .I just feel I can't give it a 100% with so much crap going on in my life and I would prefer to sit on the side of the road penniless before I would knowingly pass out work that I am or 100% happy with .Its the timing of everything all at once that's sort of made me say time to take a break and see how I feel .I don't really want to give it up ,but I feel I have to in order for me to get the feeling back that I can't live without it.I would have to make big changes with myself and the way I do business if I was to give elite one more try.At this moment in time I just feel I need to step back a little and clear my head and get myself together.

It's not a decision that you have made without giving it serious consideration; so whatever your decision, it was going to be the right one for you!!

Ian....sorry to hear times are hard. Have you considered a mobile service to get out of this rent rubbish. I for one would consider a detailer that comes to me a big plus than having to drive somewhere and then get a lift back etc???

Hi yes I have, it would work for doing the smaller jobs but as far as detailing I think it would be a struggle to make it work.I am going over all the different options I have and I'll see what I come up with In a few weeks .I am going to unwind for a little and see how I feel in a little bit.

Its intense and exacting work. I think those that are into it (myself included) have the personalities that know what burnout is like.

Rest up. re assess and onwards and upwards.

    Ian

Take it easy. You'll always find work part time at one of those Romanian car wash places. They always do a great job on my yoke and for next to nothing too.

I brought my gti to you one morning for a wash and sold it a few hours later to the first viewer. Take that as a compliment!
