Foods you absolutely hate

I'm a very fussy eater I hate salad, veg and tend to go for bland foods with no sauces added etc

Always amazed by people that can eat anything put in front of them and enjoy it.

I can't force myself to eat something unless I really enjoy it. Wondering what peoples opinions are when it comes to foods you simply just can't eat.

Eggs. I hate boiled eggs but I would happily eat a fried egg but the yolk has to be runny so I can dip my toast into it, nom! But other than that, I won't eat eggs

I hate that too. We have it every Wednesday. Boiled, roast or mashed, it still tastes fibre-ey. They say fibre is good for you though.

Don't mind it in cooking but in its raw leaf state it's poison.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

Ahhh now ! Coriander fresh from the plant is lovely.

Dill now. How hotel chefs always want to add dill to fish is beyond me. Talk about ruining perfectly good fish with a taste you can't ignore.

Cauliflower, it makes me gag thinking about it. An ould witch of a nun used to stand over me during school dinners and force me to eat it.

Seemingly theres some gene that dictates whether you can taste a certain chemical in cucumbers. I must have the gene because they're fooking rank! Other people say they taste like nothing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,705 ✭✭✭Mountainsandh

That's weird so many people here seem to dislike cucumbers, they're very mild flavoured.

In France we "de-salt" them. That is, you slice them up really thin, put lots of salt on, spread them out on kitchen paper or a collander. Wait a while till they lose some of the water (like, half an hour or so). Rinse off the excess salt, and that's it ! Easily digestible, yummy salty cucumbers.

I forgot to mention peppers. Red, yellow, green, big, small, raw, cooked etc. Why does everyone insist on ruining good meals with pure poison?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,259 ✭✭✭donkeykong5

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,705 ✭✭✭Mountainsandh

hhmm peppers. This thread is making me hungry.

    Jelly.
Eating jelly is ridiculous, you might as well be eating thin air.
There's nothing to it except wobbly sliminess. It's gross.
You should be ashamed of yourself for eating jelly.
