My local rural exchange was fibre enabled a few months ago.

    I'm on a 4mb line.. so it's connecting at 3 to 3.5mb

There are no cabinates, just copper going to every house connected.

I'm on the map for FTTH, blue line.

How long should I expect to be waiting before they actually roll out fiber. I'm at the outter limit of the blue line.

Great news. Your premises is on open eir’s 300k rural fibre rollout programme. We expect fibre broadband to be available to you by the first half of 2018.

Be aware - that is an 'expectation' and not a firm date by any means.

All 300k premises should have 'high speed broadband' by end of 2018.
Again 'should have' ...... if the plans materialise. ;)

I know , I know.. i take it all with a pinch of salt.

I spend over 5 years waiting for a half decent connection, current connecting at 3.5mb, it'll do for the moment
