DIY hot tub!

Evening lads, looking for a bit of advice on plumbing with regard to a home made hot tub. Ive got an unused milk tank (stainless) about 5ft in diameter and was going to turn it into a tub for the craic.

Looking at the possibility of hooking it up to the domestic oil boiler for heating the water, or is that madness?? Also the possibility of putting a wood burning stove in the tub.

Would the oil route work and would it get the water hot enough and how would one go aboot tackling it?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Cheers!!

Stove in the tub would look nice, but the timber might get damp.:(

Plenty of weirder things can be found online.

I think the OP need to do the maths for the volume of water, and how much heat is needed to get it to the required temperature before going any further.

Might work with a wood stove but may take all day or more to heat to a decent temperature given the heat losses outside.

You could always prop the tub up on bricks and light the fire directly underneath then invite any missionaries you know around for a meal.

Heating off oil boiler is the easy part. You just need a heat exchanger.

    Insulation must be a priority.
    Getting water airated ??

    Pump's & filteration.
    Chlorine
