If your mothers electricity supplier is Airtricity then she will receive her electricity allowance as a cash payment with her pension on the 2nd Tuesday of each month

Yeah my mother is on prepay power and gets 35 euro included in her first pension of each month. She sticks it straight on her meter and tops up by a tenner each week so she's always ahead of the game. She's actually paying less than she was when she had a bill..

If you were with Electric Ireland then you'll stop getting the allowance until you tell them who your with now so they can add the €35 to your payment instead.
But you should notify the department anyway

As far as I remember with prepay power they notified social and it just changed to my mothers pension payment and they gave reading to ESB as well..
