    Morning all.
The opportunity to spend a few days in the Lake District in Cumbria has been dropped into my lap. Does anyone have any first hand experiences of the area to augment my online searches?
I'm going to be based in Keswick which is fairly central and roam out from there. I'll shoot (weather permitting) mostly mountains and lakes but is there anything else that I'd kick myself for missing?

Edit: Damn it I can't edit the spelling in the title. Apologies to any grammarians. To rather than too.

From an (online) mate I know on a UK based forum:
I stayed in Keswick... Nearby you have:

Various Jetties by the lakeside theatre
    Ashness Bridge
    Ashness Pier
    Cat Bells
    Skiddaw
    Blencathra

And half an hours drive is Buttermere where there is the lone tree, good trees for reflection shots, Warnscale bothy.

Half an hour in the other direction is Ullswater (Aria Force, The Boat House, Hallin fell and Glenridding which is the start of the Helvellyn Walk (Striding Edge, Swirral Edge, Red Tarn). The last of the snow has gone from Helvellyn now, so should be safe to climb.

Already have Helvellyn and Blencathra on my itinerary but the rest look good, thanks. Two mountains will be enough for my poor oul legs these days so the rest of my time will be at lake level.
I'll check out Buttermere and the Lone Tree.

The bridge and falls at Aira Force look like a days shooting alone. :)

Here we just have the lakes come to us instead.

Hope you are keeping yer feet dry Caban. I can remember with horror the sick feeling in the pit of my stomach watching my car bobbing in my garden during a flood a few years back. Cars aren't meant to bob.
