Came across this microgen tech. Seems very short on specific detail though - particularly likely kWh output.

Any of you with the engineering nous to critique this offering?

Looks like its pre-production and with that, naturally there's little in the way of real life feedback, pricing information, etc.

Do they even have anything patent-able here?

Why not email them and ask your questions directly to the company?

I have done - and I'll probably post back here with any further info they provide. That said, I'd rather get unbiased feedback rather than partisan marketing blurb...

It's a while since I researched this but from memory for slow moving water this is the 'working' comparison technology.. it's certainly around a bit longer! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torrs_Hydro https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screw_turbine

You'd expect a fairly comprehensive data sheet or at the very least a link to a recognised university?
I suppose it comes down to pier reviewed studies stating kwhr output over slope/average flow rates after that?

I'd imagine it's the sort of stuff that makes good copy. Was posted up on some engineering based social media stream - and got plenty of attention. However, there doesn't seem to be much substance to it - they suggest that it's got a relatively high energy output - but at no stage do they give an indicative range. No peer review that I'm aware of and no answers from them directly.

Unless someone else uncovers something about it, I'm going to work on the assumption that this hasn't gone past a theoretical stage. No harm in asking the question though - as it would be a tonic if it did what it says on the tin.

Well let us know how your research goes, it's a welcome change from the multiple heat pump threads :)
