Just saw pregos have 'permanently closed' notice on their website, having noticed it seemed closed last night. Haven't been there for ages, but generally thought their pizzas OK.

    Anyone know why they're closed?

Don't know the reason but it closed about 3 months ago. Their pizzas weren't as good recently as they were years ago, change of ownership ;)

Noticed recently that the Indian in Ballyowen is closed too. Hopefully something interesting will fill the vacant outlets.

The rent is incredibly high on the unit, too high to sustain. Di Bella does a nice take away pizza, and the Ines in Il Ponte Nuevo are yum

Was in Pregos in December & only ourselves and one other group on a friday night. The restaurant was freezing too, definatly put me off going back again, we were all wearing our coats - no joke !

The original owners of Pregos now operate Da Mario's in Celbridge and do great pizzas and Italian food and also have a brilliant gluten free menu. Pregos had great food a few years ago but I agree that the new owners let the standards drop off dramatically.

I wonder if that's where the new Four Star Pizza is going?
