Hi folks, hoping to start a build soon and we''re very interested in using tadelakt in our planned wet room. Does anyone have any experience of it or know any tradesmen based near cork who have experience of it? From initial investigations (google) it doesn't seem too commonplace here and the few websites that turned up were kind of high-end or artsy if you get my meaning!

Might be worth posting in Natural Building Ireland on FB. Or try the Traditional Lime Company in Carlow, they might be able to point you in the right direction

Yes, you may be right. Looks like an unknown here. A friend is home for a visit at the moment from Abu Dhabi and he has only recently encountered it (he's a QS ). Looks like I may have to experiment myself.

Hey, I am hoping to use it too! It's everywhere in Morocco and absolutely stunning and durable. I'm not sure if you have already found someone and if so do you have any update?  I found this guy on Gumtree.. haven't contacted him as just in the planning phase of house but might be helpful..failing that i saw the tadelakt material for sale on done deal and a few you tube vids on how to... might be a 'tad' risky though!  [snip]

Yeah I saw that ad. I did some more investigating and it looks like it would be very expensive. It might be something I'd experiment with over time if I can get my hands on the material.
