LaRochelle 7-0 up already. Looking like 0-0 is the closest Edinburgh will get to winning this game

Spoke too soon. Good response from Edinburgh.

    14-7

King just got bumped off the tackle by a scrum half and runs in for a try.

    19-7

LaRochelle 26-7 up now. Edinburgh might be just playing for pride now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,077 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

And there's another try for La Rochelle - they make it look so easy. 7-26 now. Away win on the cards ......so a home semi for La Rochelle, by the looks of things.

Hey, Hedalgo-Clyne messes up a try opportunity, but nice work from a lineout gives Ross Forde a nice try. Well done Edinburgh. 26-12 at half time.

Lovely worked try but dinburgh desperately need to score first after the break to have a hope of winning.

Edinburgh get their act together - lovely try for Watson. Game on.

Duncan Weir putting in an early contender for the worst performance of the weekend.

    LOL this is getting good.

That La Rochelle scrum half. Retiere, has lost the run of himself having got his runaway try early on......he thinks he can do it every time and is butchering opportunities for La Rochelle. Only 4 in it now.

Edit: Retiere now subbed - no surprise.

Edinburgh claw 3 back. 10 minutes against 14 men now too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,077 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

With a man down, James slots a penalty for La Rochelle - back to 7 ahead.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,599 ✭✭✭ScrubsfanChris

James knocks over 3 for the french side.
22-29 with 10 mins to go.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,599 ✭✭✭ScrubsfanChris

Pretty anti-climatic ending. LaRochelle win it 22-32

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,077 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

Brock James knocks over another penalty to get the win 22-32. I've watched La Rochelle a few times and they certainly know how to win. Fair play to Edinburgh though for making a decent match out of it after an awful start.

Over 70k and possibly close to 80k fans to attend the QFs in Ireland today. The Irish really bring something more to the Champions Cup.

Hopefully, both provinces will go on to the SFs and Final now.

Bath v Brive is a mental game. Watson looking absolutely terrifying from full back when he gets his hands on the ball, Brive scrum hadning out one of the biggest spankings I've ever seen at the set piece.

I hope so, but I've a bad feeling I'll only be wearing my Lunster jersey for the semis.

Brive just got robbed off a fair try that would have likely put them just 7 down with a restart before the 80.

It actually looked forward to me. I think it definitely travelled forward and the passer wasn't running much when he passed so momentum isn't much of an excuse.

EDIT: Almost certainly forward, despite the bitch fit being thrown on BT about it :P take a look:

Passer had almost 0 momentum when the ball left his hands.

I knew when I was in agreement with I think it was Austin Healy that I was wrong.

At least 2 pro12 teams through to semi's and at most 1 English and 1 French.

    Saracens by 20+

Not giving Glasgow much hope here. Saracens will just have too much power.

Kind of want Saracens to win so we can beat them in the Aviva.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,077 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

Well after two minutes, it's hard to see beyond and easy win for Saracens.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,047 ✭✭✭Bazzo

I'm a bit conflicted about this match. A Saracens win is good because it's an easier route for Munster. But still... Saracens... and I kind of like Glasgow.

Either way seeing Chris Ashton denied a try is always good.

    Two tries not allowed now

    Saracens pissing through Glasgow defense

I'm no fan of Saracens, but I would fancy Munster to beat them in Dublin.

They look really good so far

Munster would be favourites against basically anyone but Leinster in Dublin. But Saracens playing some pretty good rugby so far v Glasgow. Wouldn't be a foregone conclusion at all - like yesterday was for example.

How many Glasgow fans have gone down? Looks to be loads of them

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,047 ✭✭✭Bazzo

I know it looked like a complete accident but I'm still holding that elbow to the face against Ashton.

    Knee was down no?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,077 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

Poor tacking there from Glasgow to allow Saracens score that try. At least Ashton denied his swan dive.

    That is surely double movement

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

Can't believe that wasn't called as a double movement. Clearly down and held and deliberately rolled over to score.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,599 ✭✭✭ScrubsfanChris

    Very poor tackling by Glasgow.

Saracens showing what Munster did in the away pool game if your defence is well structured and you don't miss the tackles, Glasgow have not much to offer.
