    Hi all

Can anyone advise where I should be looking for entry level jobs in practice for ACCA?

I have exemptions from 9 F Papers, passed P1 and awaiting results for P7.

I finding it hard to find a trainee position as all i see advertised require me to have 1-2 years experience.

How do people get 1-2 years experience when trainee or graduate jobs advertised require 1-2 years experience?

Graduate roles don't require 1-2 year experience.

Include the words junior trainee in your search. Trainee is a general word for someone doing their 3/3.5 year work experience. Junior trainee is entry level graduate role.

Most jobs for this September were advertised in November. Jobs will be advertised again but mainly you will see a lot advertised in the summer.

Thanks, maybe ill have better luck in the summer but right now ive searched under junior and graduate roles and each position i see requires 1 years experience.

Ive seen training contracts on chartered website but they are generally advertised at those looking to go the chartered accountant route and not ACCA.

Im not sure where i should be looking for small to medium sized firms. I would prefer to get a job in a firm that will give me experience preparing accounts and not just audit.

Look at the Chartered website most of those companies don't care if you are going ACA or ACCA they just have to advertise for ACA given that it's a a website.

Start calling every practice in the Area (Location or Accounting strain) that you want to work.

I did this in Cork. Got 5 interviews and 2 offers in 2013.

Shows a bit of creativity and that's always good for an Accountant ;)

Don't mention ACCA or CPA until the Interview. Some places are CPA practices and Vice Versa.
