BMW Engine warning light

    Hi All,

This morning when driving (BMW 1 series 116 - 2008) on the motor way the engine warning light came on.. with the following two fault codes

    2c55 oxygen sensor ageing period
    2ee0 engine temperature sensor signal

I cleared it and drove it for 20 minutes and it didn't come back on.. Any danger in driving it (as I need it for tomorrow) and will obviously bring it down the mechanic on Saturday.. Also rough estimate on getting the sensors replaced if possible

    Any help appreciated

Could be sensor, could be hole in the exhaust. I'd say an original BMW sensor around €50-€75 to buy, fitting them can be a 10 minute job if the original comes out without much trouble, if it's seized it might need to be heated up to remove it, an hour at max should do it.

Cool.. How can i rule out the hole in the exhaust ?
Just did a quick inspection and no sign of one or even rust..

Either way hopefully it is just a sensor

Just a visual inspection for major corrosion or an area that may have impacted a kerb or something on the ground, on a 2008 car it's unlikely there's a hole in the exhaust. You should be able to hear the exhause sounding off too if there's a hole.

Thanks. no odd sounds, but did have a rattle 6 months back during cold mornings, but that was just some bolts weren't tight enough and mechanic got it fixed.. no issues after that
