Transitting through Dubai airport with a controlled drug?

I'm travelling in a few weeks and will be going via Dubai both ways. I take a painkiller which is listed as "Controlled Drug A" by the Ministry of Health in the UAE.

I've been on the embassy site and the Ministry of Health website. The confusion I have is that in the notes it's grouped with Narcotics (CdA & Narcotics) but the directions refer to narcotics specifically. Those directions say I would need prior approval from the MoH, a prescription, a doctor's letter and a letter of permission from the Department of Health/HSE here, if it was a narcotic. But it's not.

Will a doctor's letter/prescription be enough? I'll be gone for a while so can't manage without and if a weaker painkiller worked I wouldn't be on the strong stuff ;)

Embassy directed me to MoH and the MoH have not responded to my emails.

If you bring your prescription and medical records, can you not obtain it at your destination?

I don't think you should rely on anything posted here if you could end up in jail for it.

Be very careful here. I was in Dubai at christmas and was warned not to bring any codeine based drugs. I have a prescription for Soldadeine and was advised to leave it at home.

Allegedly, someone high up got addicted to it in the past.
