Homehub 3.0

    Hi lads.

I tried to cancel my virgin broadband today over a number of outages, poor speeds and poor wifi coverage. I work a fair amount from home so need reliable broadband.

In all fairness to Virgin, they went out of their way to retain me. Not going into details of what they offered but part of the solution is to send me one of their new home hub 3.0 routers and upgrade the line to 320Mb.

I was digging around online and have seen a lot of people in the UK complaining about latency with this router. Seems to be fine for general traffic but VoIP and gaming seem to be badly affected.

As part of my job I spend a fair amount of time doing WebEx and Skype sessions with customers, I play the odd FPS game from time to time. I also have a VPN I use to remote back into the office.

Does anyone have experience with this router? I'm a little concerned this may not really fix the problem.
