    Hi girls,

So I have a question. My libido has sky rocketed in the last wk or so... could be more. Now I don't normally have a strong "drive" but i can't seem to stop thinking about it at the min.

The only thing I can pin point that's different is I took a month off my pill. I just started back yesterday.

I've took a month off before (I think your supposed to give it a break from time to time) but i can't remember ever being like this.

    Has anyone ever experienced this??

People can't give medical advice here so if you're worried you should talk to your doctor. Some pills do have a side-effect of reducing your drive, but that's very individual to each person! ;) If you're off the pill and your libido is up, make sure to take extra precautions!

Oh of course I'm not looking for medical advice. Just wonder if id I am alone in this. Extra precautions have been taken don't worry. ;)

I haven't had a drive like this since we were in college 10 yrs go. I'm not worried just shocked!!!

Are you mid cycle maybe? Naturally your drive will go up when you ovulate and nature gives you a hint to get things moving.

Though you said you restarted the pill today so I guess not!

My libido skyrocketed when I came off the pill, so you're not alone. It did level out again, so I'd imagine yours will settle down when you get used to the change in hormone level.

No I just finished my period and it started. I waited 7 days after my first bleed before I started the pill again... as I would on them.

Not medical advice but did you check this with a doctor? With a normal 7 day gap between pills you're covered as that's correct usage.
Starting a new pack after a break usually should be done on the first day of your period for full protection. You may not be fully protected for a while.....use extra protection and contact your doctor to check!

Oh don't worry. Extra precautions are being taken. I'm back on now and will keep going. Booked into doctor today anyways. Thanks.

My libido always goes up when I'm off the pill.
However my doctor strongly recommended against 'taking breaks' from it. Have you discussed this with yours?

Youre not alone!! This always happened to me when I came off the pill.. In fact, I think the main reason the pill worked for me is it killed off any desires I had in the first place!
Eventually I stopped using it- I preferred the higher sex-drive without it, so I chose a different road!
