2 questions concerning the Eirsport sports package

I presume that this has come up before, but I could not find it with a quick search, hence my apologies if I am going over old ground.

I am a Sky subscriber who purchased Eirsport / BT Sport etc on a one year deal. I do not have my broadband bundled, and do not have my Sky box connected to the internet.

My first Q is whether or not I should be able to watch the Eirsport channels over the web, just as I can for my Sky channels via SkyGo. I know that there is an app, but it asks for an account number which I do not appear to have? When I subscribed to 12 months I merely received an email from Eirsport acknowledging this, but it does not contain any account number.

My second question concerns Boxnation, which is now part of the package as I understand. I am able to clear this channel, but only the SD version, when I try to watch via HD I get the message that I need to purchase this channel, even though I have already HD activated for my Sky channels, etc.

    Thank you.

I don't believe that you can use the Eirport app - certainly I couldn't when I was on a similar deal. I think that can only be used by Eir broadband customers. That's my understanding of it, though I might be wrong.

You can't use the app but you can use the old setantago.com website. It's rebranded to Eir but they kept the web address.

As for Box Nation, only the SD version is included. Only subscribers to Box Nation get HD. You're not missing much as all they show on the HD version is live fights. None of their other content goes out in HD.

I'm a Sky tv and Eir fibre/phone customer and I get the Eir sports and BT sports package free as part of my Eir subscription.

I have EirSport 2hd on Sky channel 460 but can I get Eir Sport 1hd for the Masters this weekend?

    Thanks

It's in HD on Vodafone TV too, strangely enough.

A question that only Eir can answer.

Eir sport 1 is not hd on sky satellite. People asked this nearly a year ago in here and they said they have plans to make it hd. And they have done absolutely nothing. It's pathetic. Boxnation is only SD too as part of their deal with bt. I have queried this too and am told it's just the way it is. The actual picture on both eir sport one and box nation SD are horrific. It's just pathetic from the company.

Eir Sport 1 (nee Setanta Ireland) has been HD on cable but not Sky for well over six years now. Some posters to this site have from time to time suggested that UPC (as it then was) had paid for HD exclusively; to whatever extent this was this case (and I have seen no hard evidence), it most certainly is not now - Eir and Virgin Media have fallen out, and the channel is not available on Virgin in any picture quality at all. Nor is it HD exclusive to Eir, it's also on Vodafone, so that's not the reason either. I can only put it down to Eir not wanting to pay for HD on satellite. (Eir Sport 2 also broadcasts in the UK as Premier Sports, and it appears that is the reason it is HD).

As for Box Nation remember that the channel "Box Nation HD" is in fact not the HD version of Box Nation (SD), but a seperate service that shows PPV live boxing. I understand some of the live stuff will be on BT Sport 1 going forward.
