Zanussi ZWH 6120 P pump not working

    Hi

I have a zanuussi zwh6120 P, and the pump doesn't seem to be working. The previous tenant took out the filter and never put it back so I want to check if the pump itself is blocked.

In my fairly limited experience in the past, this was a fairly straight forward thing to do, but in this model it looks like there's casing around the whole drum and pump.

Does anyone know if I can access the pump without taking the whole machine apart?

looking at that Askol pump it is held in place with three screws, remove these and you should be able to withdraw the pump and check for blockage or bench test it,, when laying it over keep the soap box side to the floor

    Thanks Red Ace,

You were right, I just had to get a set of hex star keys.

The pump was blocked, but unfortunately the washer still won't start up.

I seem to remember that the main problem with those pumps, is if they stall, the rotor can become magnetised and then refuse to rotate.
I had a similar issue with a dishwasher where debris had jammed the pump and had to change it, the replacement was a more conventional AC type of pump.

    Interesting, I'll look into that,

    Cheers for the info
