Drama and Theatre Studies students in UCC

This goes out to anybody who is doing Drama and Theatre Studies in UCC, I have a workshop/entrance test for this course coming up and I would appreciate some advice on how to prepare for it - you always feel a bit more confident if you have done a bit of prep for a test, but I have no idea what to expect except that there will be movement-based exercises and a monologue that you have to read cold.

My main questions are about the monologue:
What kind of plays do they give you to read a monologue from? Is it likely to be Shakespeare, Irish playwrights from the last century, or something contemporary?
And is putting on an accent a no-no?

Any postgrad or 3rd year students who give grinds in Drama and Theatre Studies? It is not listed as a subject in the Grinds Centre.
A "grind"- as in a practice session with an experienced student, to prepare for the entrance test would be very helpful ( please PM me if available ).
