Outdoors water pipe

Hi I'm wondering about an outdoor water pipe. It's black and seems to measure about 17mm in diameter. I want to extend the pipe. I have problem extending it but I'm wondering is that right measurement?

Sounds like 1/2" normal gauge hydrodare. i am assuming you are talking outside diameter.

Ya outside diameter. It's definitely more than 1/2". 1/2" is only 12mm and it was bigger than that

Are there any printed markings on the pipe?
It might be that black plastic wavin water pipe that you have.
