Hi, I'm considering buying a Cubot X16S phone as I have a requirement for a dual-SIM phone. I have some questions, as I am not clear how dual-SIM phones work.

If I have 2 SIMs in the phone (one from Vodafone Portugal and one from Three Ireland), will this work ok?

How exactly does dual-SIM work? If I get a call or a SMS message to either SIM, will the phone automatically connect and I will receive the call/SMS, or is it the case that I have to “manually” switch between the SIMs, i.e. can only one SIM be “active” (to receive) at any time.

Also, I note that it says on the description of the phone “CARD :Micro SIM card X 1 / Nano SIM card X 1 OR TF card X 1”. Does this mean that I cannot have 2 sims in the phone at the same time as I have an external storage media (what they call a TF card). I would have a requirement to have 2 SIM cards and also additional storage in the form of an SD card.

A friend of mine recently got a Cubot phone (Rainbow) which is dual SIM etc.

I had a brief play with it, seems decent enough. Felt solidly built to me, and the software was reasonably snappy so far as i could tell anyway

I am not sure in the workings of how dual SIM card phones operate though, i assume you have to manually select which sim the phone is working off, though I'm entirely open to correction on this. Will be interested to find out myself though.

Cant do it so. The microSD replaces the SIM2 slot.

    Unless you wanna do this.....
