Did i install the light switch incorrectly?

These two things might well be unrelated but because they are both electrical it has me suspicious.

About 10 days ago I changed out the light switch in my bedroom as the old one was stiff.
I was very careful with it all, read the instructions, watched multiple YouTube videos and ensured that the comm and L1 cables were securely in place.

In the last couple of days the light in both the kitchen and back kitchen (adjoining rooms) have started to become dim/flicker/or just knock off.

The light in my room is working perfectly. All other lights in the house are working perfectly. My bedroom and the kitchen/back kitchen are on opposite ends of the house.

is it related or 2 unrelated things?
Should I double check the cables/refit the switch in my bedroom?

I assume there were more than 1 wire going to one of the terminals?

You need to make sure nothing is loose back there. Obviously turn the power off at the fuse box before messing.

1 gang 1 way light switch.
Common wire and an L1.

Ya.

In that case if your install was dodgy then the light in your bedroom would be the only one flickering.

Have a gander behind the light switches in the kitchen/back kitchen.

Don't electrocute yourself of course. Safety first etc.

I suppose you always doubt yourself with these things. Particularly with electricity I`ve no interest in arsing around.
