Correct citation for Acts

If I am doing a formal report and have the following citations:

"European Union Birds Directive (1979) Council Directive 79/409/EEC of 2 April 1979 on the conservation of wild birds. Brussels: The Council of the European Communities."

"Fossitt, J.A. (2000). A Guide to Habitats in Ireland. The Heritage Council."

Is there a comparable citation for Irish legislation (I know about act numbers and SI numbers).

It depends of the standard. There's Harvard and OSCOLA and probably a whole host more. Once you know what standard you're using you can use the citation guide. If it's OSCOLA let me know I've a PDF made for the duffers like me which is mainly pictures :pac:
