I had a hostel booked for this friday and i emailed them this past saturday to cancel, but havent got a response by email, and when I ring them there's no answer.

Is there any way I can stop them charging me come Friday before it happens, or do I have to be actually charged before I can do anything? I've given more than enough notice for any cancellation period but I can't get a response from them

Hi SureYWouldntYa, thanks for getting in touch.

It wouldn't be possible to cancel this transaction if it's already been authorised, it'd be best to try to contact the retailer again to see if they can arrange to have this booking cancelled from their side.

If you aren't able to resolve this directly with the retailer you can request a chargeback, you can do this by completing a transaction dispute form here and returning this to us along with any supporting documentation.

I hope this helps, please let me know if you need anything else.

    Thanks
    Nicola
