As the title says, I can't get a private appointment to see an eye doctor for 3 months.

My little fella (18 months) has a squint in 1 eye as diagnosed by his GP, but we cannot get a private appointment in Limerick to see a specialist for 3 months. This is despite the GP putting urgent on the referral letter.

His eye is getting worse and I do not warn to wait another day for someone to see him and tell him he probably needs to wear a patch.

All this time a ticking is only making it harder for him to recover, if he does.

Does anyone know how I can get an immediate appointment or even a shorter one for him to be seen.

Money will not be an issue as it's my kid after all..

3 months is really not an unreasonable amount of time to wait. Your son's condition will likely not change at all in 3 months and will definitely not be more difficult to treat or make it harder for him to "recover". A squint is not a one-size-fits-all situation, there are different types, differing levels of severity and different treatments. Try not to panic until you know exactly what you are dealing with. If you are very anxious to be seen ASAP ring the practice and let them know you can come in at short notice if they get a cancellation etc
