I'm in the process of buying a mini digger and was wondering what would the maximum weight be that you could put onto a tri axle plant trailer. It will be pulled by a tractor so no issues there with legal weight. There's probably a certain weight limit for the trailer but I'm just wondering what would be the heaviest I could put on it :p

Depends on the trailer. Should be stamped on it

If it's IW type trailer it will be 3.5 tonnes as that is all the hitch is rated for regardless of what is pulling it.

    +1
Even the tractor towing eye hitch is only rated for 3.5 ton on them

I have a twin axle plant trailer ( ifor Williams) its fairly low to the ground and full ramp . digger is 2.7t Kubota .

probably had 3t plus off pig slats on trailer once

Don't forget any car trailer that is plated to max load of 3.5t is 3.5t including the weight of the trailer itself, not on top of the weight of the trailer. I'm sure there's plenty of lads going round with 3.5t+ on them tho, but if they get stopped by the wrong person they might learn that the hard way
