Maternity benefit not in bank?

MB is paid on a Monday but mine always appears in my bank account late on the previous Friday evening, however there's no sign of it tonight. I presume it's due to St Patrick's day/Bank Holiday Monday, but IIRC when a payment is usually paid on a Monday, then on a bank holiday JA is paid on the previous Friday, is it different for MB does anyone know?

You've just not got it because it's a public holiday today. You'll get it on Monday. No banking business happened in Ireland today.

Hiya, just checked on here. My maternity benefit wasn't in either and it's in every sat morning. It's not there today so I'm hoping the payment will be in tmo. It said on the Initial letter I got that it's lodged on a Friday so with St Patrick's day I wonder will it be tmo or Tuesday, either way it's v poor form and I presumed if anything it would be earlier like some of the other state payments.

I presumed that too, literally scraping the pennies together this weekend, lucky we're well stocked on nappies and baby food!

Nothing in. This is an absolute disgrace. Wow and I've looked there ladies good Friday the bank is closed so it will happen again. If anyone rings let me know I might in a wee while and see what's going on but that is ridiculous, at the end of the day it's my wages and I need them.

Nothing yet, do you think it will be tomorrow. Didn't this happen on the last bank holiday around xmas time. It was supposed to be deposited on the 30th of December and it went in on the Tuesday in January.

I wouldn't mind if they just left you know! I only started mat leave on 23rd Dec and it didn't kick in until end of Jan there was such a backlog as it was! It's getting annoying as you say it is your wages and we do depend on it!

No sign either. Raging, i have no money at all, i would have budgeted for the extra days had I known! I've only been on MB since January so I have no idea of the protocol regarding bank holidays etc. They could send out a text at the very least.

    Hi,

After reading this post I have asked my wife to check on online banking her maternity benefit.

She just told me she was not paid as well, so I guess it happened to everyone.

We are fine, but I am sure some families are struggling with no money at all today for sure.

I didn't receive anything either but tweeted welfare.ie and they said they're looking into it so they know about the issue anyway. They said they'd let me know later on so I'll post an update if I hear anything.

    Hi

Hoping someone can help. I got a text on Feb 8th to say Maternity Benefit department received my claim. Since then got a text on 14th to say not to contact then. Have heard nothing since. Started maternity leave yesterday, still no word from them and can't get through to either of their phone numbers. Their website also appears to be down as I can't get onto the contact us page.

Did anyone else experience this delay in getting paid? Anything I can do??

I'm on maternity leave since December and never got anything back on writing confirming my claim but did just start to get paid when my leave started.
I did email to confirm and the address was MaternityBen @ welfare.ie . They were fairly quick to reply so if you can't get through it's worth trying.
