Have just got a price for windows and have four options

    1. 60 mm frame with double glazed windows 9,930

    2. 60 mm frame with triple glazed windows 11,730

    3. 90 mm frame with double glazed windows 12,480

    4. 90 mm frame with triple glazed windows 14,280

My question is would I be better with triple glazed with 60 mm frame or double glazed with the 90 mm frame? The double is actually more expensive so was wondering if it's more effective

Waiting on a price for 70 mm triple glazed so will see then what I'm doing. Anyone else in same boat?

The window company should be able to give you certified U Value details for each product thereby telling you which is most energy efficient ....in theory at least.

Obviously it will depend on the U-Values of the overall frame and glass but personally I looked at both 60mm and 90mm framed windows myself and the 90mm just felt way sturdier and looked like a far more solid unit overall. So whether you go double or triple I would say try go for the 90mm anyway.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Might be worth spending a few more euros for long term gain. Who did you use? Was thinking of going with munster joinery. Any opinions on them?

    Quick question about windows.

Does anyone have black interior windows? We were thinking about going black inside as well as out, but weren't sure how this would look in the house. Pictures would be appreciated.

Haven't done it yet but that's the plan for my (hopefully) upcoming renovation. Currently looking at thermally broken steel frames.

I'm planning the same! A bit wary still, but I'm hoping black will be timeless rather than grey. I definitely don't want white so it seems like the obvious choice :)

it is better to compare several window companies, installation is as important as design and size.
