    Hi
I am looking for some advice I currently work a full time week but have just been offered a role which is much closer to home but is only 20 hours per week as a single parent to a 4 year old 'its very tempting as I would have so much more time with my child. My question is would I be entitled to FIS? If I leave a full time job for part time? Will they question this?

    Thanks

Single parent with 1 child, 20 hours pw.

You will get FIS if your assesable income is less than 511 pw.

If I presume that you have 1 child with no maintenance or other income and that your 20 hours per week would be @€;10 per hour then your OPFP would be €180 approx, your net wages €190 approx and your FIS on those figures would be €85.
    So €180 +
    €190+
    €. 85
    =. €454 approx
Be aware that this may (but would be unlikely to ) affect you entitlement to a medical card, HAP or rent supplement
