Posting for my Aunt and Uncle.

He's on Invalidity Pension, she's on his claim as an adult dependent and she gets half-rate Carer's.

The total they receive on Invalidity is €350 and she gets €102 Carer's.

With the €5 increase, their Invalidity is now €355 and her Carer's is now €104.50.

This means they jointly got the €5 increase and she got half the increase.
    Is that right?

Should they both have had the €5 on the Invalidity OR should she not have had the €5 increase on her Carer's?

I don't understand it at all.

Yes that's absolutely right. The increase was incremental.

    What does that mean?

The €5 was for the claimant and dependent combined, not the dependent AND the claimant each.
Your aunt is on 1/2 rate Carers as there is already a payment in regard to her, so her 1/2 payment gets her 1/2 the €5 rise.
Pensioners on max pension got €5
Pensioners on reduced pension got €4.90
Pensioners on min pension got €4.80.
