Hi, does anyone know if the ninten switch is in stock anywhere. It's my sons birthday on Saturday and he really wants it. I thought they would have some back in stock by now. The stock check map on GameStop says they have them in Henry street but I'm not sure if this is a mistake. I am gonna go in there tomorrow and check, but I'm getting nervous now

Great thanks, I'll check in there tomorrow. It's just when I look online it says order now for delivery next week.
    Thanks

Here's a handy site for checking the Smyths stock:

Would be interested in knowing this myself as I'm not having much luck finding somewhere.

I got the last one in Smyths Blanch yesterday - but what I will say is the stock checks on the websites are not being updated. You literally have to go in and check in store.

I'm currently walking around town but can't get one anywhere either

Currently stock of the Red/Blue console in Smyth's in Blanchardstown and a few other Smyth's stores (according to the website) for anyone interested.

If you're willing to spend €70 over the RRP, CEX have a few units dotted around the country.

Obviously not ideal, but if you're on a deadline and have promised one to a family member for a present, it might get you out of a pinch.

Thanks for coming back to me, I'm looking for one for myself so its not urgent enough that I would pay above regular retail price. Ideally I want to walk in and get it somewhere in Ireland xD Does anyone know if Smyths, Gamestop or Argos is being restocked anytime soon? Or if there are any other retailers bar them that do switches.

Looks like Game have some Neon bundles in stock online.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 297 ✭✭Undead

I asked Smyths last Friday and they said no store had them until mid July. My sister in law works in Argos and said July 15-20th and Gamestop wouldn't tell me when.

I ordered from the Nintendo UK store as they say dispatch date of June 30th, but I guess it's no harm in ringing Smyths every day to check, especially if you need it by Saturday.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11 Lokhart

Seems game.co.uk is already out of stock - even if the bundles show in stock when you try to add one to your cart it says it's temporary out of stock

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32 davehogan100

Ordered on game.co.uk earlier. It was saying out of stock last night on the Zelda bundle but this morning it was in stock so I would keep trying. They wouldn't ship to Ireland either you have to ship to Parcel Motel in the North. I kept getting Fraud Errors even though my card info was correct. When I contacted them they told me it was because I was trying to ship to Ireland.

I'll let you guys know if they ship on time etc.

I know there's stock issues , what's my best option ? Mail order ? Deposit somewhere

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32 davehogan100

Online seems to be the best bet at the moment. So far game.co.uk has been great but I think there out of stock now. Placed an order 10am and its currently with DPD on the way so can't ask for much better.

Depends when you want to get one I was watching Argos/Symths/Gamestop for a Neon Switch around two weeks before I asked on here.

Can I ask you when Game actually took payment from you? I ordered off them just there, and have my order number etc, but they still haven't charged me,

The only reason I ask is I had already ordered a Switch from Nintendo UK Store and that's due to ship June 30th, I obviously don't want to get charged twice!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32 davehogan100

They were weird with Payment they took it just about two hours before I got a shipped email. So I'm guessing they only charge once your order goes to processing.

Looks like DPD will deliver to parcel motel tomorrow based on the tracking. Did you go down that route to?

Then why did you order twice

I was able to order from Game after a few tries, order shipped yesterday and seems they will be delivering tomorrow as well. I'm using DPD parcel wizard though.

I ordered from Nintendo last week, as they state they'll have Switches in stock late June, while Argos, Smyths, Gamestop and Amazon are mid to late July.

Yeah same, took an hour or two until PayPal charged me, just waiting on a shopping confirmation now and I'll cancel my Nintendo Store order!

They didn't give me an option to choose for delivery so I assume it's DPD too. Sent to Parcel motel yeah.

Wouldn't it be a bit strange if Game have a restock before Nintendo themselves

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,485 ✭✭✭✭Banjo

Not really - since the Nintendo store is operated by a 3rd party and it's within the EU so is subject to all kinds of anticompetition legislation, not to mention how damaging to their already-fragile realtionship with highstreet and online retailers to show favouritism, it'd be strange if they coud divert their stock to one retail outlet at the expense of others so visibly. It'd be easier to give Game preferential treatment over, say, Amazon, than The Hut Group (operating as Nintendo) over anyone else.

Nintendo's UK Store is run by Zavvi and they're clueless f***ing d***heads.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,485 ✭✭✭✭Banjo

Welcome to the Matrioshkan world of online trading! Nintendo's online store is run by Zavvi. Zavvi belong to The Hut Group. The Hut Group is chaired by the chief executive of the Co-Op group. The Co-Op Group is technically owned by the british public, and they in turn are governed by a board of elected officials of which the Conservative Party are currently the largest stakeholder, and that party is lead by... you see where this is going... so basically Theresa May is personally responsibile for the lack of Guardian Amiibos both in the UK and Ireland.

    Edit :
<groucho voice> I knew that Conservatives hated The Guardian... but this is ridiculous</groucho>

Yeah, they do it for most new consoles. NES classics are 250 euro, PSVR was 550, etc.

They're apologising for the stock shortages and promising more shipments in July and August!

If you have to have a Switch 400 isn't so bad, just make up the difference with some games you aren't playing anymore, then bob's your uncle.
    Or wait, and buy new.

    Got a car?
    Get your ass to Craigavon

(I searched the Newry postcode, BT35 8HJ, Flags Craigavon as having 15)
£279 which is about €317 in Merkelmarks. Factor in your petrol costs, see if it's worth the trip. Think they have a deal on if you buy a Pro Controller with it.

I ordered one off of Amazon UK last week when they were in stock but I got in contact with CS about why it hadn't dispatched and they tell me that they're actually out of stock. Really annoying, I contacted them Monday and the person said everything was fine but today they tell me they actually sold more then they have and I won't get one.

Don't suppose anyone knows anywhere in Dublin/Wicklow that has the Switch in stock now lads?
