Using Bluetooth...?

Pardon my ignorance but I just wanted to know something about connecting devices via Bluetooth.
Can I connect a device to more than one other device at the same time...?
For example, I have my phone connected to my Samsung S3 smart watch via Bluetooth all the time but can I also pair it with another device like a Bluetooth speaker so I could listen to Spotify without having to disconnect the phone from the watch...?

Yes absolutely. I regularly have my Samsung connected to the car by bluetooth and use a bluletooth remote control to change the music on the phone

My note 4 is connected to my s3 frontier all the time and then the car too when I'm in it. Though the missus' s7 edge has issues connecting to the parrot mki9200 in her car when the phone is connected to her gear fit 2. I'd say its a software issue with the parrot though, must check if there's a firmware update available .

    have you tried?

Yes I did, but without much success.
My phone dropped the connection with my watch and I couldn't reconnect it again until I'd done a full reset of the watch which was a painful experience.
I was just asking in case I was missing something as I thought maybe you could only have two devices "paired" together at the same time...

Anyway I tried again after the latest reset and indeed it does all work I have my watch and phone connected full time but I now also have my phone connected to a bluetooth speaker which is what I was trying to do in the first place.
    Thanks for the advice all.

I didn't realise you can connect more then one device at same time, so if i have 2 Bluetooth speakers one in kitchen one in living room , i can connect my phone to both speakers at the same time and play music, is this correct?

I don't think you can. You can (obviously) connect multiple devices to a Wi-Fi network, but I believe the vast majority of Bluetooth devices can only be connected singularly, that is one at a time.

Multiple clients to one host? Ok.
Multiple hosts to one client? Usually not, some devices allow two hosts but its rareish.

Pardon my ignorance but what does that mean..?

It means you can connect 3 blue-tooth headsets at the same time to one smartphone, but you can't connect 1 bluetooth headset to 3 different smartphones at the same time. I think.

Edit: Above wouldn't work, I tried :) . A better example is you can connect a bluetooth mouse and a seperate bt keyboard and a bt headphone to a a laptop but you can't connect a bt mouse to 3 different laptops at the same time.

Don't think you could connect multiple speakers to the same device, or one speaker to multiple other devices.

The phone can connect to multiple different devices at the same time, as long as they are to do different things. So watch, keyboard, mouse, speaker can all be connected simultaneously. But any duplication of functions and it will cancel the pairing with the previous device.

I regularly have my wireless headphones connected to my phone, my work phone and tablet at the same time without issues. Can only play sound from one at a time though, obviously.

I have Mpow Swift Earbuds that allow 2 devices to connect at the same time, obviously only one source can play at a time.

Connect my phone and tablet to them.

Also this single earbud allows the same.
