The Galicia "National" Mens & Ladies Gaelic Football sides will host their French counterparts this Saturday, March 18th and both matches will be broadcast live on Galician language TV channel CRTVG (An equivalent of TG4) as well as being streamed live on their website: http://www.crtvg.es.

These will be the first of a number of Galician Gaelic Football matches shown by the channel after a TV deal was brokered between Gaelic Games Europe, the GAA, LGFA, Asociación Galega de Fútbol Gaélico & CRTVG.

You can find out more about the matches at the link below including the throw-in times and a video of the TV spot being shown on the channel right now:

Great stuff. Hope it's a good game and the sport gains a fan or two more.
How would these teams compare to New York who have a championship berth?

Well France lost to the New York "Native" side in last year's World Games. The New York team would have been made up of US nationals but more than likely players who have being playing GAA since they could walk. The most experienced of the French lads will have been playing for 5-6 years at most.

The fact that in Europe we play 11-a-side due to the lack of GAA pitches would also makes things a lot more difficult.

However that being said listen to what Seamus "Banty" Mc Enaney had to say about the French team during the World Games last year. He mentions them at 2:36.

The European county champions go into the Leinster Junior A club championship every year, starting 4 years ago. They've yet to win against an Irish Junior county champion though.

I would say pretty much all the clubs in New York would be far stronger than even the strongest clubs in Europe.

Less than an hour until the Ladies game throws in.

The Ladies match is throwing in at 5pm local time (4pm GMT) with the Mens match starting at 6:30pm local time (5:30 GMT).

Here are the 2 games in full:

    Ladies:

Don't know if these will be up on the site indefinitely so I'd advise watching ASAP. The Ladies game was a cracker!
