Can I used planed timber for floor joists?

I have a thread elsewhere about replacing my rotten floor joists. But I just have a quick question that and thought I might get a quicker reply here.

I need 4 1/2 in x 1 1/2 in timber for the joists. It's only a very small room so spans are fine. I can't go any bigger otherwise with floor boards, underlay and top flooring I won't have enough space.

Most timber places I've checked are out of stock of C16 treated timber in this size, 1 place is offering me the right size in planed timber.

It's more expensive but is that the only difference? Can I use it for the floor joists? Obviously it's a waste having "pretty" wood where you can't see it, but I need this exact size.

Planed yes but is it graded/treated?

If the joists are that short surely it would be easy enough to cut down whatever you can get thats the right grade.

how tight for space are you ? are you redoing the whole floor? 5 x 2 comes at 4 3/4 strong by 1 3/4s . If you were doing the whole floor would it make a huge difference? depending on finshes etc.
