Car paint touch up cost

Hi, was in traffic today and bumped into the car on front. No physical damage bar some paint missing, but no scratches or anything. Paint missing was only about an inch and a half squared max. No even sure if I caused it because the missing paint wasn't localised to where the cars came in contact but rather spread out, with smaller pieces missing here and there along a region of the bumper. Regardless I said I would cover the cost of touching it up. How much should I expect to pay for that? Will it require the whole bumper be resprayed? (Regret not taking a picture) I was told it wouldn't be through insurance company but as my reg was taken I have some doubts about that. Also, if it is through insurance will I lose my no claims? Or what can I expect given the damage is so minor? Thanks. (This is my first post so apologies if it has already been discussed or if I post in the wrong place)

Couple of hundred for bumper respray however what tends to happen overnight in these cases is that the person gets advice from all around them and they suddenly have a sore neck resulting in a claim against you and a payout of 30k.

Will it require the whole bumper be resprayed or just the damaged area?

Whole bumper would normally be required to be resprayed as otherwise the refreshed spot will be noticed.

Carcraft would do a bumper respray for around €200-300 I think.

Without getting into the if, buts, maybes, about what you might have done or not done to the bumper, etc, the reality is you did hit it. At this point, you want to get it sorted with as little hassle as possible.

Do whatever the person wants - if they want a bumper respray, do it - for the sake of 300 quid, get it done, and mark it down as being unlucky. If they are happy with a smart repair / touch up, happy days. But if you try to be a bit sticky over what you did or didnt do, or if it only requires a touch up, etc, means it will get messy and could end up through your insurance, and you'll pay 300 quid every year for the next few years on your premium.
The person you hit is doing the decent thing and allowing you get it fixed without getting insurance involved, but if you start getting cheap or awkward on them, they'll take you out of the equation and get the insurance involved.
