How was Foxtail Hill doing in the last today before he fell?

Buried deep in the preview night thread someone mentioned how Twiston -Davis and some other fella share a yard. Both of them have been on a horrendous run for the last month or so, the word 'virus' was mentioned. Went onto Racing Post to check and it does seem that way with Twiston-Davis anyway.

Based on that last night I ruled out Ballyandy in the first, so I'll avoid the rest of his this week.

Have Marinero for the Rsa and Western Ryder bumper done antepost so might trade away for a free bet on both. Not liking much tomorrow really Tin Soldier in the Coral probably worth an ew

I think with a split bet with peregrine run, you would have a good run at it. Elliott horses will be backed off boards tomorrow. Silly price but might go to 7/2. Mullins horses might drift, particularly if Bacardys is beaten. Mark my words. Mullins is going to have a topsy turvy testing week, but Friday will deliver the holy grail with Djack. What race is let's dance running? I like her too.

He couldn't jump which is generally his best asset, Ballyandy rubbish also. I'd be cautious about his horses from this set up

Apologies for my aftertiming today, I'm fairly new to the game and I wasn't aware it was even a thing but I can see the merit in the case being made by posters in today's thread.

Turning over a new leaf here's the portfolio for tomorrow, best of luck to all.

13:30 Neon Wolf, only heavy bet tomorrow
    14:10 * Alpha Des Obeaux e/w
    14:50 Peregrine Run e/w
    15:30 * Special Tiara without Douvan e/w
16:10 waiting on Cantlow for doubles with Altior and Buveuir Dair, also have him in one with Native River so no bet on as such but very much shouting for him.
    16:50 Dreamcatching
    17:30 * Next Destination e/w

    * in an each way treble

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 153 ✭✭Phillyf9

I heard a bit of word about him last week and fancy an ew double with alpha des obeaux , tony Martin can never be totally relied on but money has been steady for long call for a while

Not the best day today so onwards we go:

    1.30 Bon Papa
    2.10 Whisper
    2.50 Tarquin du Seuil
    3.30 Douvan
    4.10 Cause of Causes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 869 ✭✭✭carq

    No major bets tomorrow
Only big bet on neon wolf
Hope douvan does the business for multiple reasons
Small bet on peregrine run at 20s
    Little bit on our kaempher
    Irish our in the last

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 223 ✭✭dave81

I'll stubbornly take on Neon Wolf. I really like shattered love and backed her for the mares race. Value disappearing now for this race. I see a huge race from her.

On peregrine run at decent ante post prices. Covered with tombstone at poor price. Though he would go to County. Surely one must go very close. I'll top up on each again tomorrow.

Cause tourjours ante post but will cover with something else maybe someday.

I must be going crazy but whisper might be bet on in the RSA. Good course form, hate the horse but failing to see anything else that isn't a big risk on form or ground.

Dolos could be a plot job, divin Bere or Long call to cover. Wouldn't have any confident in anything here. Will probably change my mind a million times. Need to study better and then back something rated around 130-134 or so.

    Good luck everybody.

    Day 2.
    Neptune
Cant get stuck into Neon Wolf. Likey winner but a bit skinny and I think the value is gone. Cant have bacardys beating bunk off early dosnt look like much form now. Shattered love is interesting. I think Lets dance is a serious animal and being beaten by her is no discrace. The 7lb allowence is valuable and 12s looks value 1 pt win.

    RSA
Acapella Bourgeois is well fancied and looks to have the best form of the Irish. Probably would like it a little softer but I am hopeful he can handle the conditions and cant see this 1 out of the places. Jumps well and stays. Cant have the favourite and at 13/2 looks value. 2pts ew.

    Coral
Have Hagram backed AP at a decent price and also like Supasundae and Aidans pick Hawk High. The supreme from last year is looking better and better as a race and this lad finished as close as tombstone and his beating of Monksland looks decent form. Only been given an extra 3lb by that prick smith so think he hasnt killed his chance. 20s looks decent value 1 pt ew 6 places PP. Have also baked Hawk High 1 pt ew at 33s.

    Cross County
On cantalow at 8s and 7s wouldnt be a backer at his current price. Augervaunt would be my pick at the current prices.

    Bumper.
Think the Skelton horse is the one and happy to back it at 8s 2 pt win

Scorpion the main reason people seem to be opposing Might Bite but his form looks a lot better than anything else in the race when you see Royal Vacations subsequent victories and he was going to be thrashed.

AB would be my pick otherwise but can you trust the last day when the ground could not be anymore different tomorrow? Ignoring that, hard to find the run that suggests Grade 1 chase winner and the others have plenty of holes. Not looking the best of races.

Really excited to see Might Bite - that mistake in December makes him unbackable for me. So he should be safe.

Form of Barcadys is hampered a bit by the stinking Bunk Off Early today. Very short anyway. Neon Wolf is very short though. Maybe Shattered Love given the trainer's form.

Can't go near Tombstone at 4s. Might play on Mister Miyagi in hopes the wind op has done something. But slim confidence.

Altior was ~4/6 to win by 6+ lengths. I'd take the same about Douvan if available tomorrow.
That said I realy just hope he blows them away and justifies all claims. With Thistlecrack falling to Many Clouds and subsequently missing the festival I feel we're missing a superstar - even if it's doesn't net me a profit.

    Cause Of Causes. Yes please.

I prefer Dreamcatching of the Nicholls pair if he's to win it two years running.

Never have much confidence in the Bumper. Probably Irish Roe or Someday e/w but probably just for the work tipping comp. No real funds.
