Looking at buying a 06 Audi, 170k km on the clock.

Car has a full service history with it, just wondering what sort of stuff should I be looking for on it with that mileage? Eg clutch changed, timing belt changed etc?

Would appreciate some advice from knowledgeable boardsies!

    Thanks

Look very carefully at the paint, see can you spot any tiny bits of dust under the paint job, there will defiantly be some considering the age of the car it's to be inspected but be cautious until your satisfied it was just cosmetic repair and the car wasn't properly crashed.
Budget full service and and timing chain regardless of the paperwork, paper never refused ink.
Check all electrics (all windows work, air con etc) brake discs for wear. Scum under oil cap.

Milage is suspiciously low for year if it's a diesel, how many owners?

Apologies, that should be 170k miles not km!!

Any idea what the rough cost of full service/timing chain would be. Its a 06 A4 TDi 140 SE

Not sure of the no. of owners at the moment, but current owner has since 2008.

    Thanks for the advice!

That 2.0 TDi engine has a timing belt not chain, I think they need to be changed every 60k miles or 5 years to my knowledge. Injectors give problems on those engines but VW/Audi did a recall on them a few years ago and replaced them so look for evidence that was done. Also some versions of that engine also suffer from oil pump balance shaft failure which can be detrimental to the engine so you would need to get the engine code and google if it's one of those effected. I'd imagine at 170k miles it has probably been replaced at this stage so look for evidence of that if it applies.
