Rent car dates

    Hi,

    1. I rented a car with pick up date at 5PM. Is my first time. Can I show up at 6PM?

    2. Also the delivery date is Monday at 8AM. Can I deliver the car Sunday at 8PM?

    3. My driving license is european and I changed address to Ireland 1 year ago. Is my license still valid in Ireland?

    If it's still open you can pick it up at 6 and the same for return.

    Your licence should have the date you received the category on it so will be valid.

    May be I was not clear. I changed my living address to Ireland 1 year ago, not the license's address, so it should be a valid license in Ireland right? How many years till the license has to be substituted by an Irish license?

    Always best to check witht the ire co - but i would say its fine (your lic is valid). As long as your payment method checks out. i.e. an irish card to an irish address. Take some extra proof of this to be sure.

    It should, but what are the laws with regard to changing address in the country which issued it?

    If you are an EU citizen then you don't need to convert it. If you are from outside the EU then you can drive for a year if it's a temporary move but IIRC you need to change straight away if you are permanently resident.

    1. Yes (provided that the office is still open)
    3. Yes (provided that the office is still open.. they usually have a drop box for keys, take pics of the car upon rental and upon return, and email it to them)
