going to start giving my calves ~1kg/hd/day at grass this year

was working it out earlier at ~ 60euro per head for 6months at grass

what products are lads & lassies using and how much of it??

i assume the nut is a cleaner job than ration as in they'll lick the nuts clean rather than any ration being left & then vermin/bird etc

does anyone add soya bean to the feed?

the father never gave them anything and i'm only after taking over a few years ago

this year was the first year(after numerous arguments:)) that i started them on calfage and then onto a ration and he can finally see the benefit of it

I'd only kee them on nuts until mid July, they go a bit stale if they're on nuts he whole way through. I'd start them on nuts again in November before they come in.

i'm planning on selling most of them when weaned so would i be better off doing 3months of nut at grass and then 2-3 weeks either side of weaning??
