    hi all

im looking at a 2011 avensis and asked about the DPF, dealer says it's not an issue with avensis at all. is that correct? thought it was a potential problem with most diesels?

i will be doing regular motorway driving anyway.

I think I heard before that the 2009 model 2.0d4d doesn't have a dpf (I stand to be corrected on that as it was "pubtalk")

The 2012 facelift models have a dpf but they give no bother compared to other diesels especially vag ones. They don't give egr issues either. The 2.2 180 dcat ones did give dpf bother

My 2011 Avensis has a DPF. Hasn't given any trouble to date. I do pretty long distance driving though so, it's not really going to cause issues for my driving style.

In fact I know a ball of taxi drivers with them too and they've never had trouble. E-Handbrake in taxis though :pac::pac::pac:

oh yeah the handbrake, is it a pain in the balls or do you just get used to it?

Honestly its fine. I dont use it at lights because it is an EXPENSIVE point of failure and its slow to release (especially auto-release), I only use it when I'm parking. You get used to it in no time
