Quick legal advice question - Damage to property fine?

So last night I was and absolute spa and smashed a pub's window after an argument with the bouncer while I was very drunk. Nobody needs to tell me how stupid that is because I'm well aware. Anyway the gards came, I wasn't arrested and I agreed to pay for the cost of a new window with the owner, thinking it would be a few hundred. They said I have 7 days to pay.
Then today I got a call saying the cost would be over €3,000. Since I'm a student and I literally don't own that amount of money, I'm trying to figure out how much the maximum fine could be if I went to court instead of paying the owner? I need to find out asap as the owner also said if I don't agree to pay again today they'll go to the gards now.
    Thanks

If it goes to court and they award costs against you, you might have a far bigger bill than 3k. Get a job and start making payments. Or get a solicitor and chance your arm in court. Either way, cough up!

Moderation: As per the charter, legal advice isn't allowed. Thread closed. OP, consult with a solicitor if you require legal advice.
